MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – Just days after the announcement of a merger with Roak Brewing of Royal Oak, there was a report over the weekend that Dark Horse Brewing of Marshall has been taken to court for not paying $1.5 million on its mortgage over the last 12 years and they are behind in paying their property taxes to the City of Marshall.
WWMT-TV reports Chemical Bank filed suit against Dark Horse and Mor-Dall Enterprises in May 2019.
In addition, the station reports Dark Horse owes over $12,000 in property taxes and if that money is not paid by next month, Calhoun County Treasurer Melinda Weaver says the property will go into foreclosure.
Roak Brewing President John Leone says they will be paying off that debt.
