COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Commissioner Don Vrablic has given the date on which he will officially resign from the Branch County Board of Commissioners.
He said during the commissioner’s work session Thursday that he will step down in just over a month on October 25.
Vrablic said in July that he and his wife will be moving into a new Coldwater Township home which is outside of the district he represents.
Vrablic’s district covers Algansee, California, Kinderhook, Ovid Townships, along with a portion of Quincy Township and the Village of Quincy.
The retired Michigan State Police trooper has served as a county commissioner since 2008.
Under state law, the county Board of Commissioners has 30 days to fill the vacancy with a resident and registered voter of the district.
Whoever is selected will serve out Vrablic’s term which expires at the end of 2020.
