Ruthina P. Wilson, 79, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Visitation for Ruthina will be held Tuesday, September 24,
2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Funeral services
will take place Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 11:00AM at Dutcher Funeral
Home in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper from Lockwood Community Church
officiating.
Interment will follow at
Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
Ruthina was born June 17, 1940 in Flint, Michigan to Olive
Lannon. She was a graduate of Coldwater High School. Ruthina made the selfless
commitment when she married Richard L. Wilson Sr., who had 6 children, on May
9, 1965 in Coldwater and they together had 4 more children. He preceded her in
death on September 26, 2000.
She worked for H & L Laundry in Coldwater and then in
the laundry department at the Laurels of Coldwater for many years, retiring in
2006.
Ruthina enjoyed the beauty of nature, flower gardening and
animals, even earning the trust of a backyard squirrel who would eat right out
of her hand. She enjoyed cooking and
baking and vacations in Northern Michigan. Ruthina will be missed for her sense
of humor and especially for her devotion to Richard and all of her children.
She is survived by
her children; Shirley Hauer of Marshall, Cindy (Kenny) Ross of Kirkaldy,
Scotland, Sally Schendel of Batavia, Illinois, Sheila (Ron) Mather of
Coldwater, Bob (Kathy) Wilson of Jackson, Linda (Wayne) Schalk of Kentwood,
Lois Spalding of Coldwater, Lisa (Michael) St. Louis of Coldwater, Randy (Sarah)
Wilson of Coldwater, 31 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
In addition
to her husband, Ruthina was preceded in death by her mother and her son Richard
Wilson Jr.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Henry Ford Allegiance
Hospital Oncology Infusion Unit, Jackson, Michigan.
Following the committal service at Ft. Custer National
Cemetery, the Wilson family cordially invites you back to the Occasion’s Hall,
which is located in front of Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater on US -12.
