COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners is scheduled Tuesday to take formal action on a bid for the clearing and grubbing of trees from the site of the new Branch County Jail.
Commissioners voted during their work session Thursday to bring forward the approval of a low bid which totaled $72,600 from Rusty 4 Farms of Albion.
Branch County Administrator Bud Norman said they were one of two companies to submit a bid for the work after requests for proposals were sent out.
Norman also told commissioners that site plans are being submitted for review.
They will be submitted to the City of Coldwater for the utility support and to Coldwater Township, since the jail will sit in the township.
During his update on the jail, Norman said they would like to have the architects from Byce and Association and the construction managers from Clark Construction on hand for the commissioners work session October 18.
Norman said they are at the point that Byce and Clark can share some “significant information” with the Board of Commissioners.
