BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school volleyball, Coldwater beat Pennfield 3-0 Wednesday (25-16, 25-21, 25-13).
Coldwater improved to 14-9 overall and 2-1 in the Interstate 8 Conference.
The game winning kill was scored by defensive specialist Alyssa Bach, who got to play as an outside attacker in the front row.
Senior Olivia Foley led Coldwater with four aces, 17 assists, 14 digs, and added four kills, Abby Herman led with 14 kills, 3 aces, three blocks, and six digs, Maddie Beckhusen had 10 digs, Laynee Paarlberg had five kills, 14 assists and 12 digs, and Veronica Gonzalez had nine kills
Coldwater also won the J.V. match 2-1 (25-11, 21-25, 15-13) as the J.V. Cardinals improved to 12-6-2
Top Stats:
Violet Walkte led the team in assists with 21 as well as 6 digs, 2 kill and 4 aces
Brooke Moore led with 6 kills, 3 digs and 1 block
Karen Mancera led the team with 2 kills, 3 digs and 4 aces
Mallory Wilber led the team with 5 kills and 9 digs
Kendyll Szafranski added 16 digs
Brynn Babcock added 8 digs
Coldwater plays again next Wednesday at home vs Parma Western for another conference game. It is also the volleyball team’s Purple Night where they will be remembering and honoring those who fought the fight with cancer.
