COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man who was charged in connection with a September 8, 2019 police pursuit waived his Branch County District Court preliminary exam Tuesday.
A court spokesperson says a plea hearing for 31-year-old Robert Manley Wilson Jr. has been scheduled for October 21 in Branch County Circuit Court.
Wilson was charged with three counts including two charges of third degree fleeing and eluding following the pursuit which started in the 400 block of West Chicago in Coldwater following a report of a van driving recklessly.
The pursuit went west on U.S. 12 before ending about a half hour later near the Dollar General Store on the east side of Bronson.
Speeds got up to 80 miles an hour during the pursuit as it headed west on U.S. 12 and there were reports of at least a couple of near accidents.
The Coldwater and Bronson Police Departments, along with the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, were involved in the pursuit.
