BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson School Superintendent Rick Hilderley has announced he has been offered a new position as superintendent in the Tecumseh school district and soon, he will accept that job and move on.
In a statement posted on the Bronson Community Schools Facebook page, Hilderley expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the families of Bronson for accepting him during his 27 months as Superintendent.
He added “it is as difficult to leave as if it had been 27 years. There is only one place that I would have considered leaving for and that happens to be the place that I came from, Tecumseh, Michigan.”
Hilderley previously worked in the Tecumseh Public Schools district as a elementary and middle school teacher between 1990 and 1998, and as a elementary and middle school principal between 1998 and 2017 before he became the Bronson Superintendent.
The Tecumseh school district has gone through a tremendous amount of turmoil in the last couple of years. Four school board members were recalled last November. The new board then cut ties with Superintendent Kelly Coffin last January. Since that time, the district has had four interim Superintendents.
Hilderley said he will work with the Bronson Board of Education and Board in Tecumseh to set a timeline for his departure which will likely occur gradually through the month of October.
