COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After four to five inches of rain fell between Friday afternoon and Monday in Branch County, near record high temperatures are ushering in the month of October.
The National Weather Service is calling for a high in Coldwater Tuesday in the upper 80’s which will put the record high of 89 degrees set back in 1897 in jeopardy.
Monday’s high temperature in Coldwater of 87 degrees was reached just after 5:00 p.m. at the Branch County Memorial Airport. It barely missed the record high for September 30 of 88 degrees, which was set in 2005.
The hot weather will not last.
Cooler temperatures will move in starting Wednesday, as highs are forecast to be in the mid 70’s.
The extended forecast is calling for highs in the upper 60’s Thursday and in the upper 50’s Friday.
