COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners voted during their Thursday work session to bring forward to next week’s meeting a request from Chief Public Defender Matthew Glaser to add Terri Norris to their list of contracted attorneys.
Glaser said in his letter to commissioners that the office has had a large influx of in-process cases due to the recent passing of attorney J.Richard Colbeck.
He points out payment for Norris’ services will come from state funds and not from any local funds so that her position on the Board of Commissioners is not compromised.
Formal is action expected Tuesday, October 8. The appointment would be retroactive to September 29, 2019.
