COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A public hearing has been scheduled during the Branch County Board of Commissioners meeting November 12 on a tentative amendment resolution for the county’s E-911 Service Plan, which officials hope will clear up some confusion.
The resolution states certain provisions of Article V of the current plan which addresses “Managerial Considerations” have resulted in unnecessary confusion as to the legal relationship between the 9-1-1 Advisory Committee, the Branch County Board of Commissioners, and the 9-1-1 Coordinator/9-1-1 Operations Manage,r and what authority is desired to be delegated by the Board of Commissioners.
It goes on to say the County Board of Commissioners desires to define and clarify the powers and duties of the 9-1-1 Advisory Committee and its relationship to the Commissioners.
The original service plan was adopted in March 1996 and was last amended in December 2001.
Commissioners scheduled the public hearing during their regular meeting this past Tuesday.
