STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School cross-country runners enjoyed a dominant day Saturday at the annual Sturgis Invitational. The Lady Cards easily won the Division II team trophy, while the Coldwater boys captured the Division II Runner-up trophy.
Elka Machan was again gold medalist in the girls competition. She was followed by medal-winning efforts by Legend Szafranski, Carolyn Potter, Cece DeWitt, Chloe Vickers, Ezma Machan, and Carlee Crabtree.
Aspen Yearling won the JV girls competition.
Only Detroit Catholic Central could beat the Coldwater boys team, led by Kyle Foulk’s 4th place finish, and followed by medal-winning efforts by Myron Lafty, John Aerts, and Antonio Potter.
Both of the Bronson cross country teams finished in their division. According to results posted on www.athletic.net Luis Ortiz and Grace Welch were the top Bronson finishers.
Rhett Reif and Avery Rufenacht were the top finishers for Quincy.
