BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson City Council voted on Monday night to offer their support to the 911 service plan developed by the 911 Board.
Bronson Mayor Larry McConn asked for backing from the council, saying the professionals on the 911 Board should have control of the board.
The resolution passed last week by the County Commission states certain provisions of Article V in the current plan which addresses “Managerial Considerations” have resulted in unnecessary confusion as to the legal relationship between the 911 Advisory Committee, the Branch County Board of Commissioners, and the 911 Coordinator/911 Operations Manager and what authority is desired to be delegated by the Board of Commissioners.
It goes on to say the County Board of Commissioners desires to define and clarify the powers and duties of the 911 Advisory Committee and its relationship to the Commissioners.
Branch County Commissioners have scheduled a public hearing for November 12, 2019.
The original service plan was adopted in March 1996, and was last amended in December 2001.
