HOMER, MI (WTVB) – Bronson captured the Big 8 Conference girls cross country championship by winning the final conference jamboree of the season Tuesday which was hosted by Homer.
The Lady Vikings won the season title by 11 points over Jonesville. Quincy was fourth in the final standings after they were fourth Tuesday’s Jamboree. Union City was eighth.
Bronson’s Grace Welch, Abby Ware and Alison Fish earned spots on the All Conference team. Welch finished third in Tuesday’s Jamboree while Fish was seventh and Ware was 11th.
Quincy’s Avery Rufenacht was also an All Conference team member as she finished sixth in Tuesday’s meet.
Boys Cross Country—
Three Quincy runners and two runners from Bronson earned All Big Eight Conference honors following Tuesday’s final Big 8 Conference jamboree of the season. Quincy’s Rhett Reif was sixth while Erik Butchart was seventh and Jacob Reif was 12th.
Bronson’s Luis Ortiz was fourth while Ashton Wells was eighth. Concord won the boys team title for the season. Bronson was second on Tuesday and finished third in the final standings.
Quincy was fifth in both the meet and for the season while Union City was eighth.
