COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The annual Beginnings Care for Life Center fall banquet last week in Coldwater was the most successful fund raiser and best attended dinner in the 12 years of the event.
The theme for the banquet was “Opening New Doors” as more than 500 people filled the Dearth Community Center October 10.
A month ago, there was a ribbon cutting and open house at the new site for the Care for Life Center at 16 North Clay Street. Jane Ford, the executive director of Beginnings Care for Life, told the banquet audience that the larger building at the location in downtown Coldwater has them looking forward to serving more individuals and families, making a positive difference for generations to come.
According to Ford, volunteers are needed both behind the scenes and up front, and any kind of gift will be appreciated.
The Beginnings Care for Life Center provides free services to women, men and families, including pregnancy tests and confirmation, baby-care materials, parenting education, and post-abortion support.
Ford said almost $20,000 was pledged for the Center at the banquet with sponsorships bringing in more than $10,000. With additional on-line contributions still being counted, Ford said the total raised is nearly $37,000.
