COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School’s third annual cancer fighting event called “Fight the Fight” will be wrapping up Friday night during a football doubleheader against Harper Creek at Cardinal Field.
The junior varsity game will start at 4:30 p.m. with the varsity game at 7:30 p.m.
To help raise funds for the ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital’s Community Cancer Center, the Coldwater Cardinal Athletic Booster will be hosting a fan appreciation tailgate party on the soccer field starting at 5:00 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $5.
Fall sports student-athletes at Coldwater High School have been sporting purple attire during designated home games which honor loved ones affected by cancer. Families, friends or anyone wanting to show support bought an athlete’s jersey. They then placed a name of a loved one who is a survivor or if they lost their battle with cancer on the jersey.
“Fight the Fight” started four weeks ago. Nearly $10,000 was raised last year.
