WHITE PIGEON (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan State Police officials are looking into an officer-involved shooting incident Friday morning in White Pigeon.
At around 12:45 am, officers with the Bristol, IN, Police Department were involved in the pursuit of a suspect that brought them into White Pigeon.
The suspect rammed the police cruiser with his vehicle, at which time shots were fired by a Bristol officer. The suspect, identified as 46 year old David Sanders of Three Rivers, was wounded and later died of his wounds at the scene.
The officer involved in the shooting suffered minor injuries and has been placed on administrative leave, while the MSP conducts the inquiry.
