COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners hopes to name a replacement for longtime Commissioner Don Vrablic in November, but now the names of three potential candidates have been released Vrablic is stepping down from the board, effective this Friday.
County Administrator Bud Norman told the Branch County Board of Supervisors meeting Monday night the three are Branch County Republican Party chairman Mike Arnold, Republican Party vice chairman Tom Matthew, and Verna Winger, who recently retired from Branch County government, mostly recently as a senior account clerk in the Administrator’s Office.
Norman will present commissioners with information on the potential replacements for Vrablic before their next work session November 7. He said commissioners must make an appointment within 30 days of Vrablic’s departure.
Since Vrablic and his wife have moved outside of the district he represents, he will be stepping down as County Commissioner October 25, 2019.
