BURLINGTON, MI (WTVB) – Following a fire which destroyed a home in Calhoun County’s Burlington Township October 13 that took the life of a young boy, community members are trying to assist the family get through a very difficult time.
Seven-year-old Jack Gibson was killed in the fire. His parents and a younger sister are still at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
62-year-old Harley Gibson and his 48-year-old wife Jackie are medically sedated while six-year-old Shayan Gibson is expected to make a full recovery from the burns she suffered.
There are several ways you can help the Gibson family who lost everything in the fire. Tekonsha Elementary School is collecting clothes and household items. Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services is accepting cash donations. There will also be a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at the Bucket in Union City between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. November 9.
