BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Four firefighters were honored for their many years of service to the Bronson Fire Department while two new firefighters and a new captain were sworn in Saturday night during the Bronson Area Fire Association’s annual banquet.
Larry McConn was honored for his 45 years of service while Darin Wolff was recognized for 25 years, Dennis Sikorski for 15 years and Jason Smith for ten years.
New firefighters Aaron Cutler and Ryan O’Rourke were sworn in and new Captain Jamie Mayor was also given his oath of office.
Kurt Beuerle, Kurt McConn and Jerry Rinehart were recognized for completing the Officer One and Two course which prepares firefighters to become officers.
The fire prevention committee was also thanked. They coordinate fire prevention activities which included visits to Head Start, St Mary’s, Ryan Elementary, and Anderson Elementary Schools, as well as the Bronson Fire Department’s annual open house and pizza party.
Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber talked about the commitment it takes from firefighters, government agencies, and the community in order to keep a quality fire department for the 8,870 people living in the Bronson Fire District.
