Harold A. “Harry” Adamson, 78, of Coldwater, passed away
Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 1, 2019 at
12:00PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Julie Elmore from the
United Methodist Church officiating. The
family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00AM Friday.
Interment will take place at a later date at East Gilead Cemetery.
Harold was born February 22, 1941 in Denver, Colorado to
Paul & Mildred (Elliot) Adamson. He
served in the US Army where he had been part of the Special Forces and played
trumpet in the Army Band. Harry had previously been married to Kay Wohlers. He
later married Jeanni (Baldwin) Lint on August 15, 2009 in Coldwater.
Mr. Adamson earned his Bachelor of Business Administration
from Western MI University and his Master Degree from Sienna Heights. He began
his career as a janitor for Douglas Manufacturing. His hard work and dedication
paid off when he left the company many years later as Plant Manager. He worked
several years for Holbrook-Patterson, serving as President, and was a college
professor teaching at KCC, Trine and Miller B. College, which he helped to earn
their accreditation.
Harry spent many years working as a consultant for various
companies and time overseas, where he built a manufacturing company in China.
He had a desire for learning and a great love of teaching his knowledge and skills
to others.
Harry was a former member of the First Congregational Church
in Bronson and attended the United Methodist Church in Coldwater. He served on
the Community Health Center Board for many years and 25 years on the Monarch
Community Bank Board.
Harry had a love/hate relationship with the game of golf
and loved spending time with his family.
Harry is survived by his wife Jeanni, his daughter Kyle
(Michael) Houghton of Williston, VT, his step children Kimberly (Kevin)
Skudlarick of Coldwater, Scott (Anna) Fair of Coldwater, daughter-in-law Amy
Adamson of Bronson, his grandchildren Christi (Lance) Losinski, Kassidy (Mark)
Nieuwenhuis, Erin (Robbie) Boyd, Morgan (Joshua) Myers, Katelyn Fair, Jacob
Fair, Grey Skudlarick and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Kip
Adamson in 2007 and his brother Gene Adamson.
