QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – An sex crime case involving a former Quincy resident has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court.
31-year-old Thomas James Stump was originally charged with two counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct.
A spokesperson for Branch County District Court says one charge was dropped Tuesday, but two additional charges of distributing sexually explicit material to a minor and assault with intent to commit second degree criminal sexual conduct were added following a nearly 90 minute preliminary exam.
According to court documents, the alleged incidents took place between December 2017 and April 2018. The alleged victims were two females under the age of 13 at the time. They were questioned in the judge’s chambers during Tuesday’s hearing.
Stump is now scheduled to be arraigned in Branch County Circuit Court November 18, 2019.
He was arrested in Texas following an investigation by the Quincy Police Department and Child Protective Services.
