ALBION,MI (WTVB) – An Albion man died Saturday morning after he was shot.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been released yet. The Albion Department of Public Safety says it patrol units found 27-year-old Amonte Bowser lying in the street after they were dispatched to the 1400 block of Cooper Street at about 3:50 a.m..
The officers rendered first aid to the victim until an ambulance arrived. Bowser was taken to Oaklawn Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Just before his death, Bowser posted live to Facebook saying he had been jumped at a nightclub. In March of 2018, his 23-year old cousin, Joseph Bowser was killed in Battle Creek. Police won’t say if the two murders are connected.
The Public Safety Department’s Detective Bureau requested the Calhoun County Major Crimes Task Force assist them in the investigation. It’s believed this was an isolated incident.
