CHELSEA, MI (WTVB) – For the third time in five years, Coldwater will meet Chelsea in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Football Playoffs.
The two teams will meet in Chelsea Friday night at 7:00 p.m. for a Division Three district championship. The Cardinals are 9-1 while Chelsea is 10-0.
Both teams fell behind in their pre-district games on Friday. Coldwater scored 48 unanswered points to defeat Pinckney 48-14 while Chelsea came back from a 21-6 deficit to beat Parma Western 28-21.
Chelsea beat Coldwater 35-7 in the 2015 state semifinals and 27-20 in the 2016 District Finals.
In games that were played Saturday, Marshall advanced in Division Four as they defeated Plainwell 43-6. Colon won their pre-regional game in the Eight Person Tournament as they defeated Camden-Frontier 60-12.
