COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Forensic Nurses from ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital Sexual Assault Services will be celebrating Forensic Nurses Week next week.
This week has been dedicated to recognizing the extraordinary work of nurses who practice in this unique nursing specialty.
Established in 1999, there are three trained forensic nurse examiners that provide specialized medical-forensic care to victims of sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse and domestic violence 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Because of full scholarships provided by the Michigan Public Health Institute, forensic nurses Laura Kopacz and Lynda Hooley recently attended the International Conference on Forensic Nursing Science and Practice in New Orleans.
If you would like more information about PCRH Sexual Assault Services, or would like to have a prevention program for your group or organization, call the PCRH Emergency Department at (517)279-5437 and ask to speak to a Forensic Nurse.
