COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners are planning to name the replacement for longtime Commissioner Don Vrablic during their next regular meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
No one else stepped forward after County Administrator Bud Norman told the Branch County Board of Supervisors meeting October 21 there were three candidates for the Third District Seat.
Those candidates are Branch County Republican Party chair Mike Arnold, Republican Party vice chair Tom Matthew and recently retired Branch County government worker Verna Winger.
Commissioners decided during their work session on Thursday that Vrablic’s replacement will be appointed following a roll call vote.
Whoever is selected will serve out the rest of Vrablic’s term which expires at the end of 2020.
Once selected, the first meeting for the new Commissioner will be a work session on November 21st.
Vrablic had to step down from the Board of Commissioners because he and his wife moved outside of the district he represented.
