COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners are scheduled to take formal action on a resolution Tuesday that would support bonding for repairs on the Branch County portion of the Lindsey Intercounty Drain.
Branch County makes up 30 percent of the drain, which also goes into Hillsdale County.
Branch County Drain Commissioner Mike Hard told commissioners during their work session Thursday that the Drainage Board will be selling bonds in the amount of $225,000 for 15 years in order to make improvements.
He said they are asking the two counties for a full faith in credit pledge in hopes of getting a better rate on the bonds.
If either county decides not to pledge their full faith in credit, then no application would be submitted.
