COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The early arrival of winter is one of the reasons the Allen Avenuestreet project in Coldwater won’t be finished until next spring.
City Manager Keith Baker told the Coldwater City Council Monday night that part of the paving took place last Wednesday.
He said the final top course of asphalt paving will be postponed until spring to better ensure a quality project.
Besides the issues with the weather, there have been unanticipated necessary repairs to a storm sewer line and sanitary sewer pipe near the intersection of Allen and Race Street.
The City received a Michigan Department of Transportation State Transportation Economic Development Fund grant of over $169,000 for the project which officials say will support 62 new jobs at Envirolite and Sekisui Voltek.
