COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A former felony clerk in the Branch County Prosecutors Office was formally charged with obstruction of justice Tuesday.
63-year-old Lorene Blair of Quincy was arraigned in front of Hillsdale County District Court Judge Sara Lisznyai.
Special Prosecutor Neal Brady filed the charge following an investigation by the Michigan State Police.
According to court documents, Blair is accused of falsely creating a warrant denial of criminal charges against a relative.
She surrendered at the Branch County Jail October 23 and is free after posting ten percent of a $10,000 bond.
A probable cause hearing in the case has been scheduled for December 3, 2019.
Blair agreed to resign from the Prosecutors Office May 20, 2019 after she was placed on leave.
