COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The case of a Sturgis man who is facing four charges after he allegedly stole a vehicle at knifepoint has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court.
26-year-old Joshua Thomas Summey waived his Branch County District Court preliminary exam, which was scheduled to take place Tuesday.
A pre trial conference in Branch County Circuit Court has been scheduled for December 9, 2019.
Summey has been charged with domestic violence, unlawful driving away of an automobile, assault with a dangerous weapon, and driving with a suspended license.
Michigan State Police arrested him at about 1:00 a.m. November 7, 2019 at Dove’s Landing off Union City Road. Court documents indicate Michigan State Police were called after a woman reported Summey allegedly demanded the keys to the vehicle from her and drove off.
