Cecil Holbrook, Jr., 67, of Coldwater, passed away
unexpectedly, Monday, November 25, 2019 at his home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday,
December 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater.
Cremation services have been provided by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Cecil was born September 28, 1952 in Albion, MI to Cecil
& Elsie Mae (Smith) Holbrook. He graduated from Marshall High School and
served in the US Army. Cecil married Cindy Cook on June 17, 1989 in Coldwater.
Mr. Holbrook worked 27 years at Michigan Carton in Battle
Creek and 20 years with the Michigan
Department of Corrections; Camp Branch, Florence Crane and Lakeland
Prison.
He enjoyed weight lifting,
playing cards and watching movies with popcorn. Cecil loved music and was a
fanatic about keeping his vehicles in mint condition. He also enjoyed watching
sports and was a huge University of Michigan, Red Wings, Tigers and Lions fan.
His greatest joy came from spending time with his daughter and his
grandchildren.
Cecil is survived by his daughter and son- in- law Hayley
and Nathan Smith of Quincy, his grandchildren Olivia, Henry and Isaac, his
siblings LaVerne (John) Fay of Cincinnati, OH, Evenell (Bob) Monica of Port
Townsend, WA, Louella (Walt) Hodge of Watervliet, Milene (Dennis) Martens of
Whitehall, his former wife Cindy Shaffer, step son Todd Cook, mother-in-law
Ellie Benjamin and sister-in-law Lori Batten all of Coldwater.
He was preceded in death by his parents and
his brother Delmer Holbrook.
