MORENCI, MI (WTVB) – A vigil was held on Tuesday night for three Morenci brothers who disappeared nine years ago.
Community residents are keeping hope alive that Tanner, Andrew and Alexander Skelton can still be found.
The brothers disappeared on November 26, 2010 and were last seen with their father, John Skelton.
He is serving a prison sentence after pleading no contest to three charges of unlawful imprisonment in the case and has said he gave his sons to “a group” to keep them safe.
The boys’ grandmother, Beverly Zuvers, is asking anyone with knowledge of where they are to break their silence.
There were hopes in the fall of 2017 that there would be closure after three sets of facial bones were found at a home in Missoula, Montana. But those hopes were dashed when the County Coroner’s Office in Missoula said the bones are not the remains of the three boys. They determined the bones were over 99 years old and had been buried “for some time” before they were uncovered and exposed to the elements.
