COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After an extremely windy and wet Wednesday, weather conditions around the Branch County area will be much milder for Thanksgiving Day.
The top wind gust recorded at the Branch County Memorial Airport Wednesday was 43 MPH at 12:35 p.m. On Wednesday afternoon there were 385 Consumer’s Energy customers in Branch County without power. Another 776 were out in Calhoun County, with 150 outages reported in St. Joseph County, and 277 outages in Hillsdale County. Much of the power in Branch, Hillsdale, and St. Joseph counties was restored Wednesday afternoon and evening.
According to the National Weather Service Northern Indiana office, Thanksgiving Day will be starting out a little breezy, but winds will continue to diminish throughout the day.
Highs will be able to reach into the mid-30s to near 40. Temperatures drop back into the lower upper 20’s to lower 30’s overnight.
Temperatures are expected to warm slightly Friday, but cloudy skies will persist.
