COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County case of a former Athens Area Schools teacher who has been charged in connection with alleged sexual incidents with a student in Sherwood Township has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court.
31-year-old Tyler David Millward waived his preliminary exam which was scheduled to take place on Wednesday in Branch County District Court. He is facing four counts of third degree criminals sexual conduct in Branch County A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for January 13, 2020 in Branch County Circuit Court.
Millward has already been convicted in Calhoun County for bribing or intimidating a witness, third degree criminal sexual conduct, lying to a peace officer, and using a computer to commit a crime.
According to the Michigan Department of Corrections website, the earliest Millward can get out of prison for the Calhoun County crimes is November 2025. If he serves the maximum time, he will be locked up until October 2038.
Millward is serving his time at the Lakeland Correctional Facility.
