COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Bronson man was formally charged with four counts of resisting a police officer and being in possession of methamphetamine Monday in Branch County District Court following a Saturday incident with Coldwater Police officers near the Branch District Library.
According to court documents, 29-year-old Travis Dean Gump was tasered after he allegedly fought with officers as they tried to arrest him on the Southwest Michigan Enforcement Team warrant for meth possession.
Reserve Coldwater Police Officer Marcus Rubley had to be treated and released from ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital following the confrontation.
Gump’s total bond is $50,000. He is scheduled to appear for a probable cause hearing December 10 and for a preliminary exam in Branch County District Court December 17, 2019.
