BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Officers and federal agents say they seized a large stockpile of drugs, illegally obtained cash, and firearms after they conducted a seizure raid in Southwest Michigan.
The Battle Creek Police Department announcing the the operation took place at 6 A.M. on Wednesday, December 11th when department officers and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security executed 15 warrents in Battle Creek and surrounding communities.
In a statement the department said , “These search warrants are part of a narcotics investigation that spans several years and countless hours, and is a result of the hard work and dedication of the joint law enforcement community.”
During the drug bust, law enforcement officials discovered and seized a large amount of drugs including marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin. Officers also discovered firearms and bulk cash in the possession of suspects.
According to BCPD, 11 people were arrested as a result of the investigation but no names or information has been released. Officials are saying that this raid is part of a larger and ongoing operation.
