David Duane Bloom, 59, of Coldwater, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, surrounded by his family, under the care of Heartland Hospice.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City, with Chaplain Scott Southerland of Heartland Hospice officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Girard Township. Visitation will be held from 4-8:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2019, also at Lighthouse in Union City.
David was born on June 7, 1960 in Three Rivers, MI to John and Lenora (Rindone) Bloom. He lived in Marcellus until moving to Union City when he was in the 2nd grade. He was a member of the UCHS Class of 1979 and a wrestler. On June 5, 1982, David married the former Tena Marie Hoard in Union City. David was a strong man who loved nature and working the family farm on Barnhart Road. David loved his wife, family and especially his grandkids, who were in every picture that got taken of him. He enjoyed antique and toy tractors, talking with people and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include David’s wife of 37 years, Tena; children, Anna Bloom of Union City and Daniel Bloom of Coldwater; grandchildren, David A. Bloom, Dominick Bloom and Landon Bloom; siblings Cathy Marvin of Tekonsha, Shari Deevers of Tekonsha, Sandy (Rodney) Norris of Quincy, Gerald (Peggy) Bloom of Quincy and Scott Bloom of Coldwater; his step-mother, Marcia Bloom of Coldwater; many cousins, nieces and nephews; friends, Jeff Gollnick, Ed Fillmore, Mike Bradford, Greg Posler, Mike Finley and Mark Johnson; and his dog, Millhouse. He was preceded in death by his parents.
