COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The National Weather Service is predicting a very soggy and miserable weekend as a series of storm systems will track through the region beginning late Thursday.
Forecasters are predicting Branch County will receive between three and four inches of rain between Thursday and early Sunday morning.
They say the heaviest rain is expected Friday night. The axis of the heaviest rainfall has shifted northwest with the heaviest rainfall expected in the Maumee and Wabash River Basins.
Temperatures are expected to rise into the 40’s Thursday and into the 50’s Friday as the first storm system tracks northwest of the region.
Later on Saturday night, the rain is expected to change to a freezing rain and snow mix, before changing to all snow as the next system tracks through the Ohio Valley to the Lower Great Lakes.
People living in flood prone locations should closely monitor the forecast this week.
