COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Legg Middle School Polar Bear team swam a double dual meet Wednesday night against Marshall and Battle Creek Central.
The Polar Bear girls came away with 2 wins, 99-46 against BCC and 82-71 against Marshall. The boys team came away with a win against Marshall, 66-58 and a tie against BCC 76-76.
This was the first dual meet in Polar Bear history.
The Polar Bears also earned two more state cuts as Drake Thornton swam his way to state in the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke.
Bringing home individual wins for Coldwater was Drake Thornton in the 200 Free and 100 Breaststroke, Carly Krzyzanski in the 100 IM and 100 Breaststroke, Liam Clark in the 100 IM, Sienna Losinski in the 50 Free and 100 Free, Taylor Eberts in the 50 Free and 100 Free, Madeline Garn in the 50 Fly and 100 Back, Josselyn Martinez in the 200 Free, and Cooper Otto in the 50 Fly and 100 Back.
The Polar Bears swim again next Wednesday at their first home meet hosted at the Browne Aquatic Center.
