COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Bud Norman told the Board of Commissioners during their work session Thursday that the Jail Committee met the previous day and went over site plans for the new Branch County Jail as well as the possible exterior for the building.
The committee also had a presentation from the Wisconsin-based firm of Accurate Controls which provides security automation systems for the corrections industry.
Norman indicated the design process should be finished in about a month. That will be followed by the bids, bonding and construction.
Trees were cleared from the site last fall but construction on the foundation had to be pushed back to this spring because of soft soil conditions.
