COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Parma Western Panthers used a fourth quarter rally to defeat the Coldwater Cardinals 55-53 Friday night in a thrilling Interstate 8 Conference boys basketball contest at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
The Cardinals came close to tying the game and sending it into overtime but they could not get their shots to drop in the final frantic ten seconds of regulation.
Coldwater led 36-32 entering the final quarter but the Cardinals only scored three field goals in the fourth stanza as they were outscored 23-17 by the Panthers.
Dylan Targgart scored a game-high 16 points for Coldwater and he also grabbed 11 rebounds. Spencer Rodesiler had 13 points and four assists while Austin Santure also had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Makyle Doss led Western with 13 points. The Panthers had the edge in bench play as they outscored Coldwater 12-2.
Coldwater is now 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the Interstate 8 Conference.
