QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – After being turned down by their first choice, the Quincy Village Council decided during a special meeting on Friday afternoon to extend a conditional offer to Brittany Butler for the Village Manager’s position.
Trustee Andrew Craig made a motion with support from Trustee Casey Bassage, to extend the conditional offer to Butler. They also directed the Michigan Municipal League to complete a background investigation and conduct a further reference review if needed.
Trustee Nick Loomis motioned with support from Bassage to authorize Council President Karen Hargreave and the Village Attorney to initiate discussions with Butler on terms of a mutually acceptable employment agreement.
Such a contract will be presented to the entire Village Council for approval prior to signature and execution
The Council initially selected Michael Sinnet of Crawfordsville, Indiana for the position after the finalists were interviewed on Tuesday but he declined the job offer.
