BRONSON – (WTVB) – Similar to what the City of Coldwater did last month, the Bronson City Council approved the appointment of City Manager Brandon Mersman to the Branch County 911/Central Dispatch Communications Board on Monday night.
Mayor Larry McConn would serve as the alternate to the board.
Fire Chief Scott Wilber and Police Chief Stephen Johnson will still serve on a technical board which will be working on a proposed 800 megahertz radio system for the county.
Bronson is one of ten members on the 911 Board which consists of local government, police and fire representatives.
The Coldwater City Council last month approved the appointment of City Manager Keith Baker to the 911 board with Director of Public Safety Joe Scheid serving as the alternate.
In other business, the Council appointed Bill Earl to take over as Vice Mayor after Jim Kenny stepped down from the Council last month. Joe Duke will serve out the balance of Kenny’s term which expires in November of 2022.
