NORTH WEBSTER, IN – (WTVB) – With a mixed bag of precipitation expected, Branch County is included in a Winter Weather Advisory from 7:00 p.m. Friday evening until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Forecasters are predicting total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches along with a light glaze of ice. Winds are also expected to gust as high as 35 miles an hour.
Precipitation will start as snow Friday evening. The snow will then transition to a wintry mix of sleet, snow, and freezing rain before it becomes all rain by late Saturday morning.
Travel could become difficult across the area Friday night into Saturday morning.
The storm system that will affect our weather is being called complex by the National Weather Service. As the colder air filters into the area, lake effect snow will spread across southwest Michigan and northern Indiana into Sunday. After high temperatures in the 40s on Saturday, highs will only be in the teens to lower 20s Sunday through Monday. Lows will be in the single digits.
