COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Officials at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater have been forced to restrict visitors until further notice due to increased illness and influenza in the community.
They are asking that no children under the age of 16 visit at this time. Maple Lawn is reminding everyone that if you are ill, postpone your visit until you are symptom free.
Those who insist on being a visitor are being told to wash their hands and wear a mask.
This is turning into one of the worst years for the flu.
The Centers for Disease Control said last week flu deaths are up more than 65 percent so far in this year with 4,800 deaths reported. Of the people who have died from the flu, 32 were children including two in the State of Michigan.
