COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Police Department has hired a new officer while another has been promoted.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for Monday’s City Council meeting that the department has hired Antesar Azookari.
The Coldwater resident had been working for the Branch County Sheriff’s Department where she had been working as a road patrol deputy for the past year and half.
Baker says Azookari attended Kellogg Community College and its Police Academy where she achieved an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice Applied Science in Law Enforcement.
Meanwhile, Officer Korin Bordner has been promoted from Patrol Officer to the rank of Sergeant.
Bordner has been with the Coldwater Police Department since July of 1999. During that time, Bordner developed and became the department’s first Special Duty Officer. She is also the first female to hold the rank of Sergeant with the Coldwater City Police Department.
