QUINCY, MI – (WTVB) – Four new members of the Quincy High School Athletic Hall of Fame were inducted Friday night at half time of the Quincy Boys Varsity Basketball game against Jonesville.
The new inductees are Jessica Flaugher Wright, Dawn Russell Brand, Jeff Lutterbeck and Coach Robert Bell.
Wright graduated in 2000. She excelled in track and qualified for the state finals in multiple events and earned a seventh place finish in the 1999 long jump. She also participated in basketball and volleyball.
Brand graduated in 1987 and was also an outstanding performer in track. She qualified for the MHSAA Finals in all four years of her career. Brand qualified in 14 events and earned medals in five of them. Some of her school records from her track performances still stand.
Lutterbeck graduated in 1989. He showed his athletic versatility at Quincy High School by earning 10 varsity letters in football, basketball, baseball, golf and track. After high school, Lutterbeck served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was in Kuwait during Desert Storm.
Bell served as a cross country, basketball and football coach at Quincy between 1968 and 2005. He was known to his athletes as “Basic Bell” as he insisted his athletes learn and execute the basic fundamentals of the sport. Bell became a avid distance runner when he coached cross country teams and competed in many marathons and road races.
Community members, coaches, and administrators are also found in the Hall of Fame.
