COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners approved a request from the Airport Board Tuesday to increase their per diem rate for meetings from 35 to 50 dollars.
The Airport Board made the request in part because there are a lot of technical discussions during their meetings.
Officials say the higher per diem would also allow for the board to find people who have airport related experiences.
Commissioner Leonard Kolcz pointed out cuts from the airport budget that took place during the recession over 10 years ago have not been restored.
The $900 increase for per diem pay is already in the Airport budget for 2020.
