COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It’s been a week since the sun has been out in Branch County and if this string of drab and cloudy days is getting you down, you’re not alone.
According to www.webmd.com, seasonal affective disorder, which is also known as SAD, happens during this type of winter weather.
They say while the exact causes of SAD are not known, some scientists think certain hormones in your brain trigger attitude related changes at certain times of the year.
Signs of SAD include a lack of energy, trouble concentrating, fatigue, a greater appetite, an increased desire for people to leave you alone, a greater need to sleep and weight gain.
It’s recommended that if you’re feeling depressed or have some of the SAD symptoms, check with your doctor for an assessment and a possible treatment.
The extended forecast indicates this dreary weather will continue into the weekend and that the clouds won’t break up until perhaps Sunday.
