COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Sunday’s high temperature of 49 degrees at the Branch County Memorial Airport marked the first time since January 11 the mercury had topped 40 degrees.
The National Weather Service says don’t get used to the spring-like weather conditions no matter what the groundhog said Sunday.
The weather is expected to transition back to winter by Tuesday afternoon.
Rain chances will increase overnight into Tuesday morning, with morning high temperatures in the mid 30’s and 40’s. Temps will fall into the low 30s through the rest of the day, causing the rain to gradually transition to a wintry mix from north to south during the late afternoon and evening hours. It will be all snow by late Tuesday evening.
Additional snow is possible Wednesday and Thursday, with light accumulations expected.
