BRONSON, MI. (WTVB) – Bronson High School senior Alana Mayer has been named as one of 10 student-athletes from Class C and D schools in the State of Michigan to receive scholarships through the Michigan High School Athletic Association/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award program.
Mayer has been a member of the volleyball, basketball and track teams.
She earned all-state recognition in helping Bronson volleyball teams win two Class C/Division 3 championships.
Mayer has also earned all-area honors in basketball and qualified for the MHSAA.Track Finals.
In addition, Mayer has contributed to multiple academic all-state team awards in volleyball and has served as a captain of all three teams.
Mayer is participating in her second year of National Honor Society, has served as chapter president and is also serving her fourth year as student council treasurer.
Besides her school activities, Mayer takes part in 4-H and has earned a number of “Best of Show” awards for crafts and livestock.
She has found time to participate in various volunteer projects throughout high school. Mayer is planning to study business management in college.
Mayer along with the scholarship recipients will be honored at a halftime ceremony during the Division 3 Boys Basketball Final on March 28, 2020 at the Breslin Student Events Center in East Lansing.
